@KanyeWest is going from strength to strength these days and he has recently won big at the BET Hip Hop Awards. West came away with a total of seven prizes from the ceremony, which was held in Atlanta. He won Producer of the Year, which is a big honor for any artist and a testament to the good year that he has had in the music industry. It probably resulted from his trademark way of mixing elements from different soul songs with his own creations and coming up with something utterly unique and interesting. He was also awarded the prize for Best Hip Hop Style and along with Jay-Z, he was named Best Live Performer. This two-man team proved to be even more successful as the night went on, also winning Track of the Year and Best Club Banger for their song Ni**as in Paris. To top it all off, the two artists were also given the award for CD of the Year, for their album Watch the Throne.
West and Jay-Z were not the only winners at the awards. Many music fans tuned in, taking breaks from other hobbies like playing on partycasino.com, to watch their favorite acts receive recognition. The event was hosted by comedian Mike Epps and the audience got to watch as Rakim was given the I Am Hip Hop Icon Award for this year.
Drake and Lil Wayne’s song HYFW won the award for Best Video and Lyricist of the Year went to Kendrick Lamar. The award for Disc Jockey of the Year was given to DJ Khaled and Hip Hop Video Director of the Year went to Hype Williams. 2 Chainz was named as Rookie of the Year and Jay-Z came away as Hustler of the Year. Congrats to all.
