@SnoopDogg is now a Rastafarian going by the name of Snoop Lion who is serious about the reggae game. No Guns Allowed is the new single off his first album since his latest genre shift. YMCMB’s Drake threw in a verse but the song has the authentic reggae vibe that I’d expect from Buju Banton or Sizzla. The Lion is definitely making smart moves. Look out for Reincarnated on April 23!

@MTV’s brain trust put @Drake at the bottom of the top 5. There’s two sides to every story. Drake’s features cashed in heavy this year. Working with 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar and Waka Flocka skyrocketed him up the charts in 2012. But his album Take Care got mixed reactions from the Hip Hop community. Though being real shouldn’t be a factor, his singing-rap flow just didn’t satisfy the critics. But his ability to get over everything and still be successful is what stood out in the end.

@KendrickLamar & @Drake finally dropped their much anticipated video for Poetic Justice today. Drake linked up with K.Dot for one of his most successful tracks off his good kid, m.A.A.d city album. Although Ms. Jackson herself didn’t make the video, it’s good to see a simple hip hop video without the same video chics and tricked out cars. Creativity at its best. Cop the album in stores now.
